Because it consists of an array of advanced technology components, the Sciton Profile system allows us to provide a wider range of laser treatments than ever before.

Broadband Light (BBL) photorejuvenation

This procedure reduces pigmented lesions in the skin through a process known as selective thermophotolysis. Essentially, dark areas in the skin absorb light more intensely than lighter areas. The dark areas then heat with the absorption of light areas, destroying the pigment-carrying cells. Through this form of natural selection, i.e. survival of the lightest, the dark regions of the skin are destroyed while the light ones are relatively unaffected. This allows the treatment of:

• Freckles (aka solar lentigines)
• Rosacea
• Age spots
• Brown spots, birth marks
• Port wine stains
• Hyperpigmentation
• Poikiloderma

In addition, BBL treatment can also reduce the incidence of spider or varicose veins, also through the process of selective photothermolysis. It can be used to treat:

• Spider veins
• Broken capillaries
• Facial veins
• Telanglectasia

Finally, BBL can also have a significant impact on warts, scars, striae, and fine wrinkles.

In general, patients do not feel any discomfort from, nor need any downtime after, BBL photorejuvenation.

SkinTyte treatments

SkinTyte is a noninvasive treatment for tightening your skin without resurfacing, a revolutionary combination of BBL heating of subsurface collagen with surface cooling to promote a partial denaturation and contraction of the collagen without causing damage to surrounding tissues. Because collagen is partly responsible for skin elasticity, the contraction of the collagen leads to tighter skin. The heating process also stimulates the body's natural healing process, encouraging it to make more collagen, which also leads to a tightening of the skin. The improvement in skin tone is significant, comparable to that achieved with the use of dermal fillers, but is neither as permanent nor as profound as that achieved by a facelift.

Profractional laser treatment

In this treatment, a deep ablative laser is applied not to the entire surface of the skin, as in traditional laser skin resurfacing, but only on very select columns covering as little as 1.5 % of the skin surface area. This removes dead tissue and stimulates the production of collagen around the treated area. This treatment gives all the benefits of a laser skin resurfacing without the same risks of infection or lengthy downtime that serve as a deterrent for many. This is a procedure closely akin to Fraxel Laser Treatment

Microlaser Peel

This treatment achieves the same results as traditional Laser Skin Resurfacing, but because of the combination of advanced elements in the Sciton Profile system, it can be done without the lengthy recovery period. In fact, the recovery period for a Sciton Profile Microlaser peel is approximately half that of the more traditional resurfacing.
